Original WWII front seam M1 helmet, swivel bales, web chinstrap with some fraying, and post-war repaint. Liner is in great shape, marked CAPAC with decal for the 29th Infantry Regiment and comes with a re-production leather chinstrap.

 

The 29th Infantry Regiment participated in securing the "Red Ball Express", following the Normandy breakout, and during the "Battle of the Bulge", the regiment secured and defended river crossings along the Meuse River in the vicinity of Namur and Liege, Belgium. After the war they served in the Army of occupation at Frankfurt on Main and then in the Bremen Enclave near Bremerhaven at Camp Grohn.
