Original WWI "trench art" mess kit dated 1918 with numerous hand engravings from WWII. Dates include Feb 17, 1921 (soldier's birthday?), Dec 31, 1940, and June 1941. The name William is engraved along with initials "GH". There is also a possible service number: 6087809. Great piece that would be a very interesting research project.
