Original WWII era German Protection Badge. In very good condition with clear markings "IN MEINEN BERGEN BIN ICH DEIN SCHUTZ", which translates roughly to "in my mountains I am protected" and the Tyrolean eagle on the reverse with "Tirol".
 
Carried by civilian hikers and Hitler Youth (formerly the Wandervogel organization), but also by ski troops (Gebirgsjäger), especially those from Bavaria.
