Exceptional HJ Dagger (Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser) manufactured in 1940 RZM maker contract code M7/2 for Solingen-based Emil Voos. The single-edged steel blade remains full and solid with typical runner marks and signs of light cleaning. The hilt and reverse pommel show honest, textbook wear with considerable flaking and bubbling to the original nickel finish, exposing the grey base alloy underneath. The black checkered grip scales are tightly pinned and free of cracks. The obverse grip features an exceptionally well-preserved, authentic red-and-white enameled HJ diamond emblem. The enamel is bright and crisp with no cracks, chips, or missing sections. The steel scabbard retains a significant portion of its original black factory paint, showing honest oxidation and service wear. The original leather belt hanger strap and retaining loop are fully intact, supple, and functional with secure metal rivets and a working snap closure. While the hilt shows service wear, the exceptionally clean enamel diamond and the fully intact leather hanger make this a fantastic centerpiece for any WWII militaria collection.
