Uncommon glass paperweight with an image of the light cruiser USS Oakland. Slight wear to felt and small scratches but overall very good condition.
The USS Oakland (CL-95), named for the city of Oakland, California, was a modified Atlanta-class light cruiser, the first of a group of four sometimes referred to as the "Oakland-class". She was launched on 23 October 1942, commissioned on 17 July 1943, and served in several combat actions in the Pacific Theater.
