Original era blue and white set made of cotton with short sleeves, manufactured by "Hoover". The jacket has a functioning zipper and two patch pockets, an American Red Cross Volunteer patch, and a 1st Cavalry Regiment unit crest. No size but measures approximately 19 1/2 inches armpit to armpit laying flat, sleeves 15 1/2 inches long. Comes with a matching dress which can be worn under the tunic or with a white shirt under, no pockets, snaps on the side. Waist measures approximately 19 inches laying flat.

 

The 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment (1-1 CAV), known as the "Blackhawks," deployed to South Vietnam as a separate armored cavalry unit equipped with M48 tanks and armored personnel carriers. Initially attached to the 196th Light Infantry Brigade and later served under the Americal Division and the 1st Air Cavalry Division.
